Warehouse Racking RFQ Checklist for Importers
Collect pallet, load, building, forklift, code, coating and installation data before requesting a racking quotation.
A usable racking RFQ needs pallet and load data, storage-position targets, building dimensions, slab and seismic requirements, forklift clearances, coating environment, document scope and installation responsibility.
Map the load unit
Record pallet type, width, depth, height, maximum weight, overhang and bottom-board geometry. A rack cannot be selected from floor area alone.
Map the building
Provide column grid, clear height, doors, fire routes, slab data and prohibited anchor zones. Mark the coordinate system on drawings.
Map handling equipment
State forklift type, turning radius, mast height, aisle requirement and any reach or guide-rail constraints.
Normalize the supplier response
Require layout, bill of materials, steel grade, load table, design code, finish, packing, installation scope, exclusions and drawing revision in one quotation.
Frequently asked questions
Can a supplier quote from warehouse length and width only?
Only a rough concept. Final design needs pallet, load, building and code inputs.
Is price per kilogram enough to compare?
No. Compare total approved scope, structural design, accessories, coating, packing and installation.
Editorial method
This guide separates source-backed fields, generally accepted selection practice and quotation-dependent data. It does not claim that every option applies to every model. Final decisions require the approved datasheet, local rules and a workplace assessment.
