QUOTE STARTING POINT

Send the operating data that determines material handling equipment selection

Warehouse material handling equipment cannot be shortlisted from capacity or price alone. Start with the load, route, site, duty and destination so unlike configurations are not compared as equivalents.

01Load unit

What is being lifted, stored or accessed?

Record weight, dimensions, pallet entry, centre of gravity, temperature sensitivity and any non-standard geometry.

02Operating route

Where must the equipment or load move?

Share aisle width, lift or working height, door clearance, floor, gradient, rack interface and traffic pattern.

03Duty and environment

How often and under what conditions will it operate?

State shift length, cycles, indoor or outdoor use, ambient temperature, dust, moisture and charging or power access.

04Order scope

What must the quotation include?

Confirm quantity, destination, required documents, packing, spare-parts expectations, delivery terms and target schedule.

BUYING CRITERIA

Compare material handling equipment on decision-critical fields

A useful shortlist separates product-family choice from model configuration, then records the assumptions that still require supplier confirmation.

01

Rated task

Match lifting, storage, access or cold-chain duty before comparing individual models.

02

Site fit

Check aisle, height, floor, building, rack and utility constraints against the proposed system.

03

Operating duty

Define cycles, shifts, environment and power access so the configuration fits actual use.

04

Configuration boundary

Identify batteries, masts, decks, rails, finishes, refrigeration units and accessories by approved scope.

05

Document scope

Request only the manuals, drawings, inspection records and compliance files applicable to the selected order.

06

Commercial basis

Compare quantity, Incoterm, destination, packing, lead-time basis, warranty scope and spare parts together.

APPLICATION PATHS

Match each material handling equipment family to a defined operating task

Application labels are starting points. Site conditions and project documents still govern the final selection.

01

Warehouse transport and loading

Compare electric forklifts by load, lift height, aisle, duty, battery, tyres and attachment requirements.

02

Pallet stacking in tighter aisles

Compare electric pallet stackers by pallet entry, residual capacity, lowered mast height and route clearance.

03

Indoor and outdoor access work

Compare electric scissor lifts by working height, platform load, deck, drive, floor and gradient.

04

Selective or high-density storage

Choose pallet, drive-in or cantilever racking from load units, stock flow, handling equipment and building data.

05

Additional floor area

Plan a warehouse mezzanine from intended use, design loads, column grid, slab, stairs, openings and local review.

06

Temperature-controlled storage

Compare reefer containers by cargo, temperature duty, climate, unit, power, condition and placement scope.

COMPARE OPTIONS

Use one comparison frame across very different equipment families

The fields below prevent a low headline price from hiding a different duty, site fit or supply scope.

Decision fieldQuestions to answerEvidence or record
Product-family fitDoes the task require transport, stacking, access, storage structure or temperature control?Application brief and site data
Capacity and geometryWhat load, height, reach, aisle, pallet, platform or container geometry governs selection?Model sheet or project drawing
Environment and dutyWhat floor, climate, shift, cycle and power conditions apply?Operating-duty statement

Delivery and supportWhat packing, shipping, document, warranty and spare-parts scope is included?Commercial quotation and order files
EVIDENCE & RESOURCES

Separate category guidance from order-specific evidence

We do not present category imagery as proof of stock, factory ownership, certification or a completed customer project.

  • Load unit: What is being lifted, stored or accessed?
  • Operating route: Where must the equipment or load move?
  • Duty and environment: How often and under what conditions will it operate?
  • Order scope: What must the quotation include?

Request a model- or project-specific specification that identifies the exact configuration, governing dimensions and performance fields. A category page is not a substitute for that record.

  • Approved specification or project drawing
  • Applicable inspection checklist
  • Packing list and loading plan
  • Manuals and parts information where applicable
  • Destination-specific compliance documents only after scope confirmation
  • Product family or operating task
  • Load, cargo or access requirement
  • Capacity, dimensions and required height
  • Aisle, floor, building or placement constraints
  • Duty cycle, environment and power access
  • Quantity and destination
  • Required options, documents and delivery term
PROJECT COORDINATION

Move from operating data to a comparable equipment quotation

01

Define the task

Record the load unit, movement or storage objective, operating route and environment.

02

Choose the family

Narrow the requirement to transport, stacking, access, racking, mezzanine or cold-storage equipment.

03

Normalize the configuration

Use the same capacity, geometry, options, documents and commercial fields for every supplier response.

04

Approve the order basis

Confirm the final model or project drawing, included options, delivery scope and release evidence in writing.

Specification and inspection coordination
Specification and inspection records are matched to the approved order.
Packing and shipment evidence coordination
Packing and loading evidence is requested for the order being released.
DIRECT ANSWERS

Questions to answer before choosing warehouse equipment

Answers are written for early procurement decisions. Project-specific facts still require the approved quotation and documents.

Which material handling equipment family should we start with?

Start from the task. Use forklifts for transport and loading, pallet stackers for pallet handling in tighter routes, scissor lifts for elevated access, racking for storage density, mezzanines for additional floor area and reefer containers for temperature-controlled space.

Can we compare suppliers from headline capacity and price?

No. Capacity may be stated under different load-centre, height, duty or geometry assumptions. Compare the selected configuration, operating environment, options, documents, packing, delivery basis, warranty scope and spare-parts support together.

What information is needed before requesting a quotation?

Provide the load or cargo, dimensions, required height, route or building data, environment, duty cycle, quantity, destination, required options and documents. Unknown fields can be identified during technical review rather than guessed.

Are category images proof of the final supplied configuration?

No. Category images explain equipment families and selection paths. The approved model sheet, project drawing, option schedule and commercial quotation define what is included in a specific order.

Which compliance documents can be supplied?

Document availability depends on the exact model, destination and order scope. State the required standard or market in the RFQ and request the applicable file for the quoted configuration before treating it as available.

CLEARER PRODUCT COMPARISON

Compare real product configurations without duplicated capacity or option pages.

Capacities, heights, finishes and accessories stay together when they belong to one product range. This gives buyers a clearer shortlist and a more comparable RFQ.
